C & M Marine ( will

Provide the following

  1. Safe, dry living quarters aboard the 110-foot F/V Naknek Spirit.
  2. Round Trip Airfare from Kodiak to vessel with 50 pounds of gear each way.
  3. Three Meals/day and snacks will be provided.  Hearty meals with plenty of food will be out for one to take advantage of.
  4. Shower, and household style toilet available for use.
  5. Each client will have their own bed with storage space to put one’s personal belongings. One will need to bring a light sleeping bag, one’s living quarters will be heated.
  6. The vessel has two knuckle cranes to raise and lower skiffs into the water.  The skiffs will be used to transport hunters to and from the beach to go on their blacktail deer (& mountain goat) hunt. Additionally, the cranes can be used to lift their game on board and work on the back deck.
  7. There is a dry game storage room for one’s game on the vessel for the entire hunt.
  8. TV’s with countless movies are available along with board games.
  9. The vessel will be mobile and be willing to move to nearby hunting grounds to increase one’s chances of harvesting game.

Items & arrangements you need to make

Preparations needed

  1. Transportation to Kodiak City.
  2. Personal outdoor clothing, light sleeping bag, toiletries including one’s medications etc.  
  3. Current hunting license and proper hunting tags. Click here licensing & tag information from the ADF&G
  4. A firearm of choice—please consider where you will be hunting in selecting your firearm.
  5. Three to four sets of clothes.

You should consider bringing the following

Suggested Items

  1. Breathable Waders.  
  2. Layers of hunting clothes, and light rain gear, walking poles.
  3. A sharp hunting knife and game bags/meat boxes. Ship crew cannot assist with butchering one’s game, as per law.
  4. Making proper shipping arrangements to ship your game and gear back to the mainland.
  5. Dramamine, in case of seasickness during transit. We will be anchored in protective waters the rest of the time.
  6. Field pack, quality binoculars, plenty of ammo, light twine, hunting boots, and everyday shoes (to wear on the boat) and gloves.
  7. C&M Marine does not provide alcohol, so one must bring your own if you choose too. Please make your party aware that due to liability and safety concerns we ask that alcohol consumption is within reason and good judgment.
